Have you ever wondered why mosqitoes buzz in people's ears?
We watched a video of an African pourquoi story called 'Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People's Ears'. The story explained that long ago the animals were angry with Mosquito because he told Iguana such a big lie that Iguana put sticks in his ears so he didn't have to listen! This meant Iguana couldn't hear Python, who then scared Rabbit, who then panicked Crow, who then alarmed Monkey, who then swung from a dead branch which fell on Owlet and killed it!!!! Mosquito hid and was never punished, so now he buzzes in people's ears to ask, "Is everyone still angry at meeeeee?
What do you think? We would love to read your comments.

Hello again. You have been reading some amazing books. I know that the buzzing of a mosquito drives me bananas so maybe I am angry with mosquitos too.
Did your books have beautiful illustrations in them?
How can you tell if a story is true or if it is a legend or fable?
I used to love reading legends from other countries when I was your age and I would walk several miles to the big library in Lower Hutt to get the books out. I don't think I could walk that far any more.
I love your blog. It is so colourful and I've learnt a lot about what you are learning. Yea LC 10.
